James and Kristin met at the local pub in the neighborhood where they live on January 13, 2007--the night before the big Charger's/Patriot's playoff game. It was a quick comment about James' t-shirt that sparked a conversation that lasted hours. The evening ended with Kristin graciously refusing James' invitation to the game the next day (although she really wanted to go).

A few weeks went by and Kristin went back to the pub, secretly hoping to run into the man who intrigued her a few weeks ago. She was definitely out of her comfort zone and walked quickly in the door and sat at the first unoccupied table. James was sitting at a table behind her and remembered her immediately. Frustrated that she did not turn around so he could make eye contact, he made a move to the bathroom where she would be unable to avoid him. It was a perfect plan and within a short while they were deep in conversation and making plans for a dinner date the next week.

On January 13, 2010, three years from the day they first met, James proposed.

Our wedding is Friday July 16, 2010 aboard the Maritime Museum Berkeley Ferryboat. This is a permanently docked boat on the San Diego bay. The ceremony begins at 7:00pm with reception to follow immediately after. We request that you dress "California casual". We want everyone comfortable and ready to have a great time.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn on the Bay. The hotel is directly across the street from the Maritime Museum Berkeley ferryboat.
Room rates are $135.00 for a standard room and $279.00 for a standard suite.
