Jennifer McGuigan & Craig Wingfield

Cheers!

Our Story

Craig and I met in 1999, shortly after I turned 21 through mutual friends. We started off hanging out in a group which slowly progressed to more. Craig was always very supportive of my aspirations and even encouraged me to move to San Diego in 2000. We became exclusive a few months after I returned from China in 2001 and stayed that way until March 2003.

Over the years we kept in touch, mostly through friends and when I needed a shoulder to cry on when my best friend from high school, Deanna, was killed in a car accident. We decided to give our love another shot in the end of 2006.

In March 2009 I left San Diego to live with Craig in Covina, CA and began the search for our home which we purchased in Aug 2009.

Sept. 16, 2009 Craig took my father and brother to dinner to ask for my hand in marriage! We left for Atlanta 9/17/09 without me knowing what was to come. We arrived at Sandals All-Inclusive resort in the Bahamas on 9/19.

On Sunday, 9/20, after getting ready for dinner Craig suggested we go out to the beach to enjoy the sunset. We grabbed champagne on the way. We sat on the beach chairs and he told me he had something "serious" to talk to me about.... he had lied to me! He didn't go to dinner with Bobby Doyle the night before we left, he had gone to dinner with my dad and brother! He professed his love to me and asked me to be his wife right there on the beach with the beautiful sunset! I was so excited and loud that a resort photographer came down to see what the commotion was about! He took our pictures and another employee gave us champagned and toasted to our new adventure! It was truly romantic and I feel blessed to have such a great guy that went out of his way to make this moment as special as it truly is!
