| We met in the fall of 2001, having been assigned to the same project. This gave us ample opportunity to argue, which we did often and well. But we also made each other laugh - alot. Later we learned that we were also neighbors, living literally across the street from each other. In that context, we discovered that we had a great deal in common, and a surprisingly delightful friendship began to develop. That was almost two years ago, and most of you already know the rest of the story. To us, it's kinda like a fairy tale. Now, we continue to laugh alot and rarely argue. Neither of us can imagine a life without the other. That's why we've decided to have a ceremony to celebrate our love and joy, and to formally declare our commitment to each other with you as our witnesses. Our committment ceremony will be held outdoors, on the North Lawn, at Marina Village, on Saturday, August 5th, at 12:30, overlooking the water - a view of the water was a must when choosing our site. Michael Carr will preside over the service. He has invested great care, thought, and heart, working closely with us, over several months, to design a ceremony that is most meaningful to us. Your presence in person or in spirit, your love and support, as we embark on this new chapter in our life together, is especially meaningful to us. We hope you can witness our declaration of love and celebrate our special day with us in person. If you will do so from afar, please take some moments on that day to send us your heartfelt blessings, warm thoughts, and loving wishes. Our celebration with family and friends will continue at a reception, immediately following the ceremony. It will be held in the intimate Spinnaker Room, at Marina Village, which offers another lovely view of the water. There will be food, wine, music, and an extraordinarily decadent chocolate cake. There, you will notice that we adore purple and blue hues. Our DJ aims to please, and will make every effort to accommodate your requests to hear your favorite tunes. Anyone feeling moved, is welcome to kick off their shoes and dance. All will be invited to take the mike and offer a toast, if they like. Attire should be relatively casual (Well, maybe no jeans and t's). We want our guests to feel comfortable and have fun. Please bring an appetite and a merrymaking attitude. We're going to Paris! Could we have chosen a more romantic destination? We think it's a perfect place to travel to, as our new journey together begins. We'll spend just over a week in that magical city, and have plans to take a romantic dinner cruise on the Seine, have a lovely lunch at the Eiffel Tower, explore the Louvre and other breathtaking museums, see Notre Dame, visit Montmarte, and more. We'll be sure to take lots of photographs too. Thank you for being a part of our special day, whether you will be joining us in person or in spirit, for celebrating with us, and for giving us your blessing on our union. |
